So, this is a shameless piece of self-promotion for my new Kindle book — “In Bed with Fortune Cookie Sayings.” The book isn’t related to small business marketing or Internet marketing. It’s just a humorous book about fortune cookie sayings and the “in bed” game.

The book is a collection of real fortune cookie sayings, gathered over many years of eating Chinese food – whether at the lunch buffet or take-out for dinner.

For some reason I came up with the idea of writing a book using fortune cookies – although this book was not my original idea – and that’s what launched my “collection” of fortune cookie sayings.

After being introduced to the game of adding “in bed” after reading your fortune cookie after a meal, a friend of mine (thanks T.S.) gave me the idea to put together an eBook with all the fortunes I had collected using the “in bed” ending.

It sounded like an off-beat idea – and I’m all for different – so I created this fun little book of fortune cookie “in bed” sayings. Here’s a couple of examples:

• Many pleasurable and memorable adventures are in store for you… in bed.
• Be on the alert for new opportunity… in bed.
• Do not hesitate to look for help, an extra hand should always be welcomed… in bed.
• Do not give up; the beginning is always the hardest… in bed.
• Everyone feels lucky for having you as a friend… in bed.

This is my second Kindle book — “News Release Blueprint” was my first — and was more of a fun project, not to mention many years of eating Chinese food and collecting fortune cookie sayings. And it’s harder than you think to find different ones! There was nothing more frustrating than coming home with several sayings after a lunch only to find I already had several copies of that same fortune!

But, all in all, I can’t remember too many bad meals, so it’s been fun eating some good food and putting together this crazy little book filled with over 200 sayings!
