Tips Tuesday – Repurposing Ideas For Webinars

I don’t know about you, but I think I’m hearing less and less about webinars. But, and this is a pretty important but — according to a recent article from Content Marketing Institute, webinars rank as the most effective tactic for B2B content marketers. They attract attention, leads and engagement.

That success doesn’t have to end when the webinar does. And yet only 48% of marketers say they planned to use their webinar content after the event, according to an Omnipress report. Repurposing the webinars into a multitude of formats lets you reach new audiences, reinforce messaging with previous attendees, and promote your brand’s expertise on the topic.

The key concept to remember is repurposing!

You know, creating one piece of content and finding multiple distribution channels for it — or better yet, multiple places to distribute bits and pieces of that content. And bonus points if this repurposing can be done without creating a second job for yourself.

So how can you accomplish this? Well, according to the Content Marketing Institute article, you can:

  • Pull short video clips (anywhere between 15-60 seconds) to use on social media channels, like Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Pull the audio from your webinar to create a podcast, or multiple podcasts.
  • The content you deliver on your webinar should be great stuff, so if it is, write an article for your blog (or guest post on other people’s blogs).
  • Create quote graphics to use as “stand alone” content pieces for Pinterest and Instagram.
  • Get a transcript from your webinar and use it as “value added” content. You can also use the transcript as the basis for your article and other written products.
  • Publish the content as an e-book or physical book  — or better yet, take the multiple content pieces you’ve now created and turn all that into a membership site or full-blown multi-media information product.
