Here’s some interesting statistics about the world of blogging from Blogging.org.
Among the highlights:
- More bloggers use WordPress (43%) than Blogger (35%).
- 48% of bloggers are Caucasian; 38% African American.
- There are 42 million blogs in the U.S.
- There are 500,000 daily posts.
Perhaps what I found most interesting is related to the business of blogging. Unfortunately, most bloggers don’t — or can’t — make a business out of it:
- 81% of bloggers of the 1,000 surveyed never make $100 from blogging.
- Only 8% make enough to support a family.
- 9% make enough to sustain their personal lifestyle while blogging 4-6 hours per day.
