If you have a weekly podcast, a common question is, “What’s the best day to publish each episode?”

According to Daniel J. Lewis from The Audacity to Podcast, there are a few things you should consider:

  • Schedule relevance: business content might not be consumed as quickly over the weekend
  • Recurring events: you might need to ensure your episode gets out early enough so people can consume it before the next event (such as as TV-show-fan podcast)
  • Urgency: some podcasts may need to publish an episode as quickly after an event
  • Most importantly, think about what serves your audience the best.

But Lewis says, the answer is — the best day to publish a podcast is the same day as last time. Consistency is more important than the day itself.

CONCLUSION: Remember, the answer to the question “What day is best to podcast?” or “What time is best to post on social media?” or “When should I do this or that?” is now. You just have to start. So if you aren’t yet podcasting, get started. Podcasts are a great way to connect with your target audience!
