They also report three interesting — and quite shocking — social media statistics that will help you beef up your marketing. And not only do they provide these cool stats, they also give you several suggestions for each of the three on how you can use the stat to leverage your marketing efforts.

So what are these three shocking social media stats?

  • Nielsen estimates that social media and blogs reach 80% of all active U.S. Internet users (of which there are 245 million).
  • One in every seven minutes spent online is spent on Facebook.
  • 91% of experienced social marketers see improved website traffic due to social media campaigns and 79% are generating more quality leads.
